2008 W.G. Characklis Memorial Graduate Scholarship

 


 

Laura Jennings is a PhD candidate in environmental engineering at Cornell University, who is completing her research at the CBE.  She invests significant time and effort in  maintaining the spirit and strengths of the CBE.  Laura has participated and regularly organized outreach activities for K-12 students.  She is wonderful with children and gets them excited about environmental and biofilm science and engineering.

 

Laura has been one of the CBE seminar series organizers and instructors of the University Nancy Characklis and Laura Jennings
Studies Course UNIV 125CS "Microbes in the Environment”   a course taught by CBE-PhD candidates to non-science or -engineering undergraduate students.  Since her arrival she has significantly improved the understanding of oxidative DCE transformation processes by combining microarray, proteomics, and chromatography-mass spectrometry techniques.
