CBE graduate student Catherine Kirkland, PhD in environmental engineering, was one of seven recipients of a 2013 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship.

MSU's College of Engineering (COE) honored its faculty and students at its annual awards luncheon on May 2, 2013. 

Two CBE faculty were honored with awards. Abbie Richards, associate professor, chemical and biological engineering, received the COE Faculty Award for Excellence in Advising. Sarah Codd, professor, mechanical and industrial engineering, received the COE Lloyd Berg Faculty Mentorship Award.

Kara De León, recent MSU-CBE doctoral graduate in microbiology, was recently featured by Montana State University for her research of the remote hot spots of Yellowstone National Park and the radioactive ground at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Hanford, Washington.

CBE undergraduate student Eric Dietrich and CBE faculty member Warren Jones, associate professor, both of MSU’s Department of Civil Engineering, are among the recipients of the 2013 Awards for Excellence sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association and the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce.

CBE PhD students spend summer conducting research beyond MSU

CBE PhD student, Heidi Smith, land resources and environmental sciences, spent the summer as one of only twenty students in the 2012 Microbial Diversity summer course at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

Natasha Mallette, PhD candidate in chemical and biological engineering was recently honored with the 2012 Betty Coffey Graduate Engineering Award.

Anne Camper, CBE faculty and associate dean for research and graduate studies in MSU’s College of Engineering, and Mari Eggers, PhD student, microbiology, were awarded an R25 grant from the NIH’s National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) entitled “Improving Montana community health through graduate education.” With the grant, they created the
