Media/Information Specialist.   Managing editor of two CBE websites, www.erc.montana.edu and www.biofilmsonline.com. Editor of two monthly electronic newsletters, the CBE News Update and BiofilmsOnline.com Newsletter.

Webmaster.   Webmaster for CBE web site which includes coordinating multiple web sites and editing and managing the information.  Developed current web pages for the CBE using FrontPage 2000.  Editor of the  CBE News Update, a monthly electronic newsletter which is sent to the CBE's industrial sponsors and research collaborators. 

 

Biofilm Institute, Inc., Bozeman, MT 2000-2006.

Managing Editor.  Managing editor for the BiofilmsOnline.com web site.  Produce a high quality, educational web site that publishes new information on a weekly and monthly basis.  Obtain reprint permissions for copyrighted materials.  Edit and proofread content for consistency, accuracy and quality.  Solicit and research for content material.  Identify new content opportunities.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Center for Biofilm Engineering (CBE), Montana State University-Bozeman, MT 1993-1999

Special Projects. Work on special projects as they arise such as workshops and proposals.  Compile the National Science Foundation/Engineering Research Center annual report and renewal proposals each year (1990-1999). Annually update an Engineering Research Center database for NSF. Compile Center information for the College of Engineering's annual report. Maintain the Center publication list on the world wide web and respond to reprint requests. Maintain a Center publications database using Reference Manager. Serve on the Facilitator Committee and Finance Committee. Participate in the Presentation Prowess group which serves as an advisory audience for people seeking ideas and feedback as they prepare presentations and in general hone their presentation skills.

 

Center for Interfacial Microbial Process Engineering, Montana State University-Bozeman, MT 1990-1993

Administrative Officer. Responsible for Center support services. Goals of support services were to enhance interpersonal relations, professional and personal development, work environment, and goal achievements of Center employees and programs. Interacted with Center program leaders and teams, participating in team building, brain storming, conflict resolution, hiring processes, personnel evaluations and promotions. Served as liaison for Center Director and staff, informing of activities, problems, concerns, and requests. Coordinated activities on Director's behalf. Provided information and administrative assistance to Director, Policy Advisory Board, Scientific Advisory Council, and Center Leadership. Drafted, compiled, edited, and formatted in report and proposal writing processes. Team member of Center Leadership, Administration, and a Thriving on Chaos reading group.

 

Institute for Biological and Chemical Process Analysis, Montana State University-Bozeman, MT 1989-1990

Program Assistant. Liaison for Center and affiliates. Provided administrative assistance to the Industrial Associate program, including coordination of two- and three- day semi-annual Industrial Associate meetings. Editor of IPA newsletter and bulletin. Also edited numerous reports, proposals and publications, and assisted in the development of the NSF proposal which established the Center.  Network communicator for projects involving MSU and off-campus collaborators. Involved in hiring processes, supervision, and evaluation of staff.

Secretary. Assisted Director and office staff with proposals, reports and correspondence. Arranged travel schedules, airline tickets, travel advances and reimbursements. Sorted and distributed mail. Reconciled monthly SBAS and Grants and Contract reports with internal records. Supervised student employment.
