Dr. Dimitri Bikos joined the CBE in July 2018 as a postdoc in the Chang Lab. His research specialty is investigating flu viruses using single-cell methods and develops techniques using drop-based microfluidics. Projects Dimitri has worked on in the Chang Lab include:

  • Designing nucleic acid amplification detection methods for SARS-CoV-2
  • Customizing nanosphere-stabilized drops for use in microfluidic applications
  • Developing high-throughput microfluidic drop detection methods using Raman and fluorescent spectroscopy
  • Investigating influenza virus dynamics using drop-based microfluidics as part of a DARPA-funded project

His research interests also include electrophoresis, colloidal separations, rheology, and soft matter. Dimitri earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, and earned his Master of Science and PhD from the University of California Los Angeles.
